Experience and Specialisation:
I am currently working at Plan International, an NGO working for children's rights and equality for girls, as a UN Representative in Geneva. I operate as internal coach and support leaders and staff to reach their full potential. In addition I have a private praxis and serve as biographical coach, where I focus on more personal development.
Prior to Plan International, I produced two books on life stories of Internally Displaced Persons in Colombia & Georgia.
I have an extensive humanitarian experience within the International Committee of the Red Cross. I have worked and lived in many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Apart from biography work, I love to travel, be in the nature, meet new people and learn new things.
'I' on the Path:
Human rights including, justice, equality and diversity is part of my being since I was a teenager. I am a trained social anthropologist and most of my professional life I have dedicated to humanitarian and human rights work across the world. I have worked in several countries a cross the globe. I consider myself as a global citizen, feeling at easy in an intercultural environment and I speak six languages, four of them at a daily basis.
With this international mindset, I trained myself as a biography coach and counselor in the late 90-ies and worked as a biographical coach part time for a couple of years. I have incorporated a few methods and tools from my biographical praxis into my management and leadership style and I have used part of it in my private life. Since a couple of years back, my emphases at work has changed to becoming more people oriented with focus on management, leadership, coaching and biography work. I am a people’s person and I have a genuine interest in other human beings. I support clients to connect to their inner being, to raise awareness and freedom of choice as well as support them to unlock their own resources and strengths. I hope to be able to offer my biographical work to many clients across the globe.
I come to this conference to learn, meet colleagues, get inspiration and new ideas. A few of my questions :
- How to balance biography counseling with broader engagement in the world for social change and justice?
- How do we reach the place of freedom of choice in full consciousnesses?
- What is the ideal or right place of biographical counseling in the world?
